The hard working people that bring you the Coldsnap Music Festival are pleased to announce the full lineup for the 2019 festival, which will take place January 25 to February 2, 2019.

This year’s festival features performers from across the country in a wide variety of genres including jug-band jazz, east coast classical, sensational soul, and many, many varieties of roots, rock, folk and blues with some world music thrown in just to keep things lively.

Things kick off Friday night with our own Lheidli Mens Group Drummers, followed by Whitehorse hillbilly blues artists Ryan McNally Trio and Nunavut sensations The Jerry Cans. Saturday features performances from Saltwater Hank, Big Little Lions and Juno Award winning, alt-country stars Elliott Brood. Sunday is busy with two concerts, an afternoon show for kids featuring the amazing Ginalina, and an evening blues celebration with Darlene Shatford /Curtis Abriel, Kat Danser and the USA’s Grammy nominated Guy Davis.

And that’s just the first weekend. The music fiesta continues on Tuesday with Coldsnap’s first classical music adventure featuring The PGSO Chamber Musicians, Amir Amiri/Richard Moody, and Atlantic String Machine from PEI, followed on Thursday by a special evening with the beautiful voices of Grace Hoksbergen (2018 Limelight Quest Winner), The Celeigh Cardinal Trio, and roots rocker Terra Lightfoot. Friday night will feature a dance party co-presented by Le Cercle des Canadiens Français de Prince George, with Prince George band The French Connection, Montreal’s É.T.É., and from Ottawa, LGS (aka La Groupe Swinge or “the scammers of traditional music”). We will finish off the festival on Saturday with a red-hot ska, jazzy calypso dance night featuring Wells own ska-band Interstellar Jays, ArtsWells favourites Red Haven and 2018 Juno winners Kobo Town. Performers from across Northern BC will open each evening show and will also be featured on two special nights on Monday and Wednesday at the Royal Canadian Legion.

Throughout the week, the performers will participate in a number of free daytime community outreach events called “Icejams”, where artists will perform and answer questions in relaxed and casual venues around downtown Prince George. We welcome one and all to “Come in from the Cold” and enjoy these free, daytime events that help make Coldsnap one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year.
